Our Anniversary and Random

Last weekend was our 6 year anniversary! We were able to go to a nice dinner while my parents were here to babysit the boys.

Just for fun...
The morning after our engagement.

Our wedding, obviously!

Random pictures..

Mommy and Hunter

Mommy and Hays

Daddy and his Mini-Me!

We love Grandad!!
My friend, Maggee came to visit! We miss you, Maggee and wish you still lived here so we could see you all the time!

What we are doing now!!

I decided I need to give updates of what Hunter and Hays are doing right now since I haven't written a single thing in their baby books!!

Hays...

  • VERY active these days! During awake time he is going 90 to nothing! Now when I lay him on a blanket and walk out of the room, I come back and he has wiggled off the blanket! This morning I went downstairs to get my coffee and he had wrapped himself around the corner of his activity mat! He is hilarious!

  • Has rolled over from his back to his front.

  • Rolls back and forth from side to side all the time and loves it.

  • Hasn't found his thumb yet, but is trying.

  • His smile is more of a teased smile. He squishes his nose and squints his eyes when he smiles and it is precious!!

  • He is a little more reserved about giving smiles away...Only smiles when you make eye contact with him. (this is why I can never get a picture of him smiling! When I hold the camera up, all he does is stare at the camera and think what is that thing??)

  • Loves his daddy! He really does have a bond with Will and loves to smile at him :)

  • Is always the first one to wake up. During nap he usually wakes up 30-40 minutes into his nap and moves around and watches his mobile. Sometimes will just fall back asleep, but other times will fuss for a few minutes and then go back to sleep. I think he is going to be our little morning person too!

Hunter...

  • More laid back now. During awake time he just lays in the same spot and kicks his legs.

  • Loves to coo!

  • Will smile at anything and anyone.

  • Has giggled a few times.

  • He loves for people to talk to him and will listen intently.

  • He is scared of things...He doesn't like loud noises or big groups of people. If either happens, he gets this look on his face, pokes out his bottom lip, and cries the most pitiful cry!

  • Sucks his thumb a lot now. I used to put his paci in when I put him to bed and now he finds his thumb first.

  • Has only rolled over from his stomach to his back and really doesn't even care to do that very often.

  • He is going to be our little sleepy head. Hardly ever wakes up early from his nap! In fact, I usually have to wake him up because Hays is ready to eat. (Sorry, buddy! You're a twin!) A lot of times I also have to wake him up at 7:00 because Hays has already been up for an hour :)

  • Loves his mommy! He really does prefer me over Will. Will even scares him sometimes when he is being goofy. I think it's funny, but it kinda hurts Will's feelings :)

They both reach for toys now and put them in their mouth. One of their favorite toys right now are these hand-made rattles that one of Will's Amish friends made for them. They are so neat and they have their names engraved on the top.

We go strolling around our yard every afternoon about 4:30. I wanted them to be able to enjoy outside and this is a great way to do it!

Will came home to stroll with us yesterday.

We strolled out to look at the garden. I've always wanted Dream Ranch to plant a garden so that all the employees' families could benefit, including myself :)

I pictured a small garden with just enough for the 10 or so employees they have. Well...Will is known for not doing anything small, so here is our garden...

I'm so pumped about it!!

Beach

We went to the beach with Will's family a few weeks ago and it was such a fun trip!! Hunter and Hays weren't quite sleeping through the night yet so that was pretty rough on everyone, but for the most part, they did great! Since Will (or his skin) doesn't really like the sun, he watched the boys a lot so that I could enjoy it. It's definitely a different experience going on vacation with 2 babies! We also were so glad to be able to spend time with our niece, Hannah Grace. She loved Hunter and Hays and always wanted to know where they were when they weren't in their bouncy seats or car seats. Here are some pictures from the week...

4 Months

I know I'm late posting this (What in the world have I been doing in my spare time???), but the boys turned 4 months on May 5th! Their stats are...Hunter 11 lbs. 8 oz. and Hays 10 lbs. I have their lengths written down somewhere, but I can't find it :) They are still in the 1st percentile for height and weight, but we know they will eventually catch up! Our Pediatrician wants Hays to gain some more weight so I've started supplementing with formula to give him some extra calories. It's actually been a lot harder than I thought to add one more step to the equation! Isn't it enough to nurse 2 babies?? So, now I have to nurse them both and then "offer"(I love how they say "offer" him the bottle. You still have to make the bottle, warm it up, and then see if he wants it. If he doesn't, you've just wasted 2 oz. of formula!) Also, sometimes he decides he wants more than the extra 2 oz. so I have to run downstairs to fix another bottle, all while he is screaming his head off. Not to mention I have this other baby :) Needless to say, we are taking this one day at a time and we'll see what happens!!
They are both such sweet boys and we are having so much fun! Yes, twins are tons of work and most days I'm totally exhausted by 7:00 P.M., but I feel so honored to be a mommy to these 2 boys! I've heard so many people say that the Lord knows who to give multiples to (and usually the person telling me that assures me she is NOT one of them!) and I guess He knew that I that I would absolutely love it!
Hunter and Hays are both sleeping great now! They go to bed at 7:30 and then I wake them up at 10:00 to fill up their bellies one more time. They go right back down and then sleep until anywhere in between 5:45-7:00! Hays usually wakes up at 5:45, but stares at his mobile until about 6:15 (I know I should be sleeping, but I watch him on the video monitor). He starts fussing about that time so I go get him and we cuddle on the couch until Hunter wakes up. I feed them at 7:00 and that's when our day begins.
They are definitely beginning to notice each other. They will often smile at each other while nursing or playing on the activity mat. This is my favorite thing they do right now! It's so sweet!
I couldn't get Hays to smile while holding a camera in front of my face!

Will dressed Hays and his pajamas are on backwards :)

Had to Share...

These boys slept straight until 6:30 this morning!!!! No paci reinsertions or anything!! Now, if only I can sleep until 6:30 without a peep. I think I wake up every hour and say,"yeah! They are still asleep!"
